A Brief Profile |
Dr. Shanmugam Bhasha joined as Assistant Professor in Zoology at North East Regional Institute of Education, NCERT, Shillong, in February 2024. He did his Ph.D. from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. Dr. Shanmugam is specialized in isolation and characterization of bioactive molecules from medicinal plants and screening of their biological & therapeutic activities, and also carried out the studies on proinflammatory cytokine gene expressions in rat models. He published more than 40 research papers in National and International reputed peer reviewed journals with a considerable impact factor. He also presented/ attended/ participated in more than 50 National/International seminars/workshops/ webinars. He received a Young Scientist Award from the National Environmental Science Academy, New Delhi and was an elected Associate Fellow of Andhra Pradesh Akademi of Sciences. He is an active life member of the Society of Biological Chemists (I), Society for Mitochondrial Research and Medicine, The Indian Science Congress Association, National Environmental Science Academy and Environmental Mutagen Society of India. |
