A Brief Profile

Dr. Albert Horo, has done B.A. (Hons.) in Geography from Delhi University, M.A. with specialization in Urban & Regional Planning from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University. Joined Regional Institute of Education, Ajmer in 1997 as Lecturer, having a long experience in research and training in the field of Social Sciences in general and Geography in particular. During 2018-21 served as Head, Department of Education in Social Sciences and Humanities (DESSH), RIE, NCERT, Ajmer also. His areas of interest are in the field of Environmental Geography, Geography Education, Urban and Regional Planning, Map Making etc. Primarily engaged in pre-service and in-service teachers training programmes and research & policy related educational programmes in the field of Social Sciences Education in particular. Participated in many International/National/Regional level Seminars/Conferences/Panel Discussions/Workshops in the Geography Education and allied areas. Written many research papers/articles in renowned National and International Journals in the field of Geography, Educational Geography etc. Besides, also contributed in Textbook and supplementary materials writing of NCERT and School Boards of different states. Having an experiences in different positions in academic, administrative and policy planning related areas. Recently contributed in the developing and designing of the syllabi of ITEP Curriculum Framework of NCTE. He has presented about 30 papers in National and International conferences and seminars in the field of geography education and the areas of interests. Further, coordinated about 20 training programmes for in-service teachers in all the states of northern region. The major publications include-
