A Brief Profile

Dr. Sagnika Sahoo joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at North East Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Shillong in March, 2024. Prior to this she had been serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of B.Ed, Bijoy Krishna Girls’ College, Howrah for 5 years 8 months. She completed her M.A (English) from Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, West Bengal. She did her M.Ed and Ph.D (Education) from Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Bhubaneswar. She also worked as Junior Research Fellow at Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Bhubaneswar. Her area of specialization is value education and character education. Her areas of interest are educational thoughts of Swami Vivekananda, positive psychology, happiness studies, etc. She has published more than 10 research papers in different national and international peer reviewed journals. She also has presented 20 research papers in various national and international conference/seminar, etc. She authored a book “Education for Transformation” published by Cresent Publishing Corporation. She is an active life member of Indian Association of Teacher Educators (IATE). Besides she also has organized a number of national level workshops and seminars as a part of her service. She carried minor research project on Mindfulness Meditation.
